Chris Dubuc, Founder, President and CEO

Mr. Dubuc is the Founder and President of Harfang IP. He previously founded Longhorn IP, a patent licensing company. Prior to Longhorn IP, Mr. Dubuc was Senior Vice President at Acacia Research Group. Prior to that, Mr. Dubuc was Vice President of Licensing Technologies at WiLAN. Previously, Mr. Dubuc held a range of positions in engineering, sales and product management with several companies developing and marketing products in the area of wireless technologies, including Nortel Networks, GE Fanuc and the Communications Research Center. Mr. Dubuc holds several patents related to wireless technology and has published multiple papers and articles in the area of wireless technology. Mr. Dubuc is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has been recognized as one of the World’s 300 Leading IP Strategist by Intellectual Asset Management magazine (IAM). Mr. Dubuc holds a M.Eng. in Systems and Computer Engineering and an MBA.


Curtis Dodd, Chief Licensing Officer (CLO) and Chief Intellectual Property Officer (CIPO)

Mr. Dodd is a veteran of patent monetization, enforcement and portfolio management in the telecommunications and consumer electronics space with over twenty years of industry experience. Amongst other roles, Mr. Dodd was counsel for Nortel Networks and lead the management of its 4G wireless portfolio (twice being named as an inventor). Mr. Dodd also worked for Wi-LAN as Vice President, Patents and Counsel, for Acacia as Senior Vice President and Licensing Executive, and as Senior Licensing Specialist for Fitch Even. Mr. Dodd has been named to Intellectual Asset Management magazine’s 2021 list of the World’s 300 Leading IP Strategists.


Nicholas Wilson, Senior Vice-President, Licensing

Mr. Wilson has been working in patents since 2005, when he moved from BlackBerry’s software development to legal department to help work around NTP’s patents. In 2012 he moved to WiLAN where he directed global licensing and litigation efforts as well as drove prosecution in key jurisdictions around the world, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in licensing revenue from the world’s biggest tech companies. He has spent much of his career working in wireless technologies and has litigated and licensed extensive SEP portfolios. Mr. Wilson has been recognized as an IAM Strategy 300 & Global Leader 300 in 2022/3/4/5/6 for his expertise in developing, acquiring, prosecuting, managing litigation and negotiating licenses for patents around the world. He has a degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Guelph and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa.


Sushil Kumar, Vice-President, Licensing Technologies

Mr. Kumar is Vice-President Licensing Technologies for Harfang IP. Before Harfang IP, Mr. Kumar was a Group Manager at Evalueserve and has led the practice on wireless Standard Essential Patents (SEPs). Mr. Kumar has a deep knowledge of SEPs and 3GPP/IEEE standards. Mr. Kumar has approximately 12 years of experience in acquisition, patent mining, claim chart preparation, licensing, and litigation support. Mr. Kumar holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a law degree. Mr. Kumar is also a registered Indian patent agent.


Hélène Dubuc, Vice-President, Finance

Mrs. Dubuc is a bilingual Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, and treasury management. Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership roles across a variety of industries, overseeing financial reporting, treasury operations, budgeting, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives. Most recently, she managed customer payments accounting at Rona Inc., leading a team of 24 professionals and supporting financial operations for more than 250 retail locations. Previously, she held progressive finance and treasury leadership positions, managing complex cash operations, lender reporting, and corporate accounting functions for large organizations. Recognized for her analytical approach, collaborative leadership, and commitment to operational excellence, she has successfully led financial system implementations, strengthened internal controls, and improved business processes. Mrs. Dubuc holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and earned her CPA designation in 1993.
